LISBON AIRPORT:
 
— We highly recommend getting euros before leaving the area of baggage claim as many places prefer cash & your credit card may have additional fees in Europe (check with your individual bank)
— When entering Portugal & going through customs, go to left where it says digital passport if you’re traveling with nobody under 18. It will be quicker than the line to the right.
 
TRANSPORTATION:
 
— Transportation is being provided for 9/12/24 for those staying at Casa Palmela to the Welcome Drinks venue only. We will NOT be providing transporation back as everyone will be encuraged to make your own dinner reservations that evening and will come back to the hotel at your leisure.
— when taking a cab, make sure you ask if they take card PRIOR to getting into the cab. Not all of them do.
— On Sundays taxis are more expensive and they do charge for luggage
— Ubers are strongly encouraged by David & I as it's just simply easier to get around.
 
MONEY:
 
— There isn't necessarily a huge tipping culture as much as in the United States, but if you have a good experience tipping is welcomed.
— If you'd like to get additional Euros, we recommend going to Nova Cambios for best European rate
— Lisbon is extremely safe, but of course use common sense when walking about with cash on hand etc
 
FLIGHTS:
 
We recommend booking your flights as soon as you have finalized travel plans as it is less expensive the sooner you book. If you are coming from the west coast, we recommend a direct flight into JFK and there will be alot of direct flights and/or layover flights from there into Lisbon and beyond. It will be easiest to fly into Lisbon, Portugal and if you can, we recommend coming a few days ahead to accommodate for the time zone change.
 
ACCOMODATIONS:
 
Our exclusive accommodation for 60 guests at the event venue Casa de Palmela 9/12/24-9/15/24 is now full. Please look at below discounted accommodations if you're still looking for one.

Early check in is not guaranteed, but feel free to reach out to Carlene the day prior to check availability of early guest check in. You can always go from the airport to the hotel & plan to just relax at Casa Palmela outdoors until your room is ready. You will be asked for a credit card for incidentals or additional charges like food just as any other hotel upon arrival.

All breakfasts are included if you are staying at Casa Palmela & served 7:30am-10:30am daily. Guests may purchase additional meals or drinks at your leisure.
 
GENERAL TIPS & TRICKS:
 
—Be sure to save your VAT receipts for any shopping you do, you can get a tax refund a the airport when you leave the last EU country. And yes, designer goods are less expensive :)
—Most people speak english & those that don't are very friendly & patient! Go to google translator if you're in a pinch so you can show them the english to Portuguese translation!
